BARS, PUB, TAVERN AND RESTAURANT INSURANCE PROGRAM

We offer a competitive Insurance program for accounts with Liquor Liability.

ELIGIBILITY

CHES Special Risk Inc. has developed an insurance program designed to meet your needs.

The following are the minimum requirements for eligibility into the insurance program:

1. Demonstrate that the business meets the standard risk management criteria for loss prevention and public safety as outlined below.

2. A willingness to participate in the ongoing process of understanding risk and minimizing risk where practical.

3. Each member is subject to individual underwriting and pricing based on the risks inherent in their operation and the final determination of acceptance by the underwriter.

4. Current eligibility liquor sales under 60 %


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

1. A minimum of (2) two years in business or (3) three years of equivalent experience in management in the field

2. No more than (2) two claims or (1) one over $ 10,000 in the past (3) three years.

3. Completed application, Coverage Sheet and a photocopy of the declaration page of your existing insurance policy


STANDARD CONDITIONS AND WARRANTIES

Relating to the Fire and Multi Peril portion of a policy if underwritten.

1. All commercial cooking must be equipped with a " wet " APPROVED AUTOMATIC FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM
( ULC 1254.6 ).

2. Comply with Ontario Fire Code Ref. No. 6.2.6.12 Class K type extinguisher to protect commercial cooking equipment.

3. A minimum of (1) one 10 ABC Fire Extinguisher on the premises per 2,500 of occupied square feet.

4. Both the automatic fire suppression system and extinguisher(s) must be fully maintained under a SEMI ANNUAL MAINTENANCE CONTRACT.

5. To be eligible for REPLACEMENT COST, the building must be no more than 25 years old, or all services including, wiring, plumbing, heating and roof must be updated in the past (10) ten years.

BURGLARY ALARM WARRANTY

6. To be eligible for " All Risk " coverage, the premises must have an approved burglar alarm system, minimum complete perimeter protection to outside monitoring station;

THIRD PARTY LIABILITY

7. The limits of liability provided under the policy will be based on a limit per occurrence and aggregate per policy period.

There may be other terms, conditions, restrictions, limitations and warranties applicable to an individual risk, there will be identified on the Quotation Form sent by us, if they are applicable.

The policy is subject to a minimum deductible of $ 1,000 on the Fire and Multi peril section, $ 500 on the Crime section and $ 2,500 on the Third Party Liability section.

Premiums once bound are payable and subject to a minimum retained premium of 25 %.


STANDARD RISK MANAGEMENT

1. Provide and maintain training for all serving staff through Smart Serve and/or any other approved program.

2. Establish written procedures for the sale of alcohol to be followed by all staff, reinforce and support staff.

3. Maintain an activity log to record possible incidents.


SAMPLE HOUSE ALCOHOL POLICY

1. Monitoring the door - Entrance / exit / first point of service - ID verified where appropriate, service denied to rowdy or intoxicated guests, control access to avoid overcrowding.

2. Provide a food menu to encourage consumption of food.

3. Offer low cost non-alcoholic beverages

4. Encourage designated drivers

5. Post notices to inform guests of the house rules

6. Maintain stairs, floors free of debris.

7. Refuse service to intoxicated guests.
